RE.LIGHT Side Program

During a masterclass lasting several days on March 17 and 18, 2026, on the topic of techniques and content creation for projection mapping, Regensburg-based light artist Clemens Rudolph will develop projections together with young talents and upcoming light artists. Participants will learn the technical and artistic basics of projection mapping. Under the guidance of the expert, new works will be created during the festival and presented to the public on March 21 and 22, 2026, at Leerer Beutel.

Do you already have a basic knowledge of digital image design and would like to take part? Then send a short letter of motivation (approx. half a page) to kultur@regensburg.de.

The masterclass is made possible and sponsored by RE.LIGHT sponsor BMW.

Light artists, experts in the fields of light art and lighting technology, and interested audiences will have the opportunity to present themselves, gain exciting insights, and exchange ideas with an international network at a conference on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Degginger, Wahlenstraße 17.

A public conference program will be offered from 2:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.:
Artist presentations:

Join the short, five-minute presentations by the artists of RE.LIGHT 2026. This is an opportunity to learn more about their work before exploring the festival and viewing the installations at night.

Panel discussion “New Approaches in Projection Mapping”:

Liudmila Siewerska, Daniel Rossa, and Javier Riera, who are each presenting newly commissioned works at RE.LIGHT 2026, will discuss their methods and project details, moderated by Clemens Rudolph.

Lecture “Focus on Technical Innovation at Light Art Festivals” by Michael Körperich (CEO TCLG Event Technology):

This lecture explores the questions of how artistic intentions are confronted with technical, spatial, and organizational challenges and how quality emerges from this dynamic. Practice clearly shows that technology does not limit ideas, but rather makes them feasible and scalable.

Interested participants can register free of charge here until March 6, 2026:
