12 – Liudmila Siewerski »Zeitrisse«

Neupfarrplatz

“Zeitrisse” is a projection-mapping work dedicated to the architectural morphology of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Regensburg, where traces of the Roman Empire, Gothic verticality, and Baroque ornamentation merge into a singular urban ensemble. The façade of the Neupfarrkirche becomes a reflective surface; a temporal mirror in which the city’s layered history is revealed, fragmented, and reassembled. Architectural forms, textures, and details emerge and dissolve, evoking the overlapping epochs that have shaped Regensburg’s identity. Through the interplay of light, architecture, and an immersive soundscape, “Zeitrisse” creates a sensory experience that disrupts linear time, transforming the façade into a living palimpsest and allowing the viewer to momentarily experience the reversal and fracture of historical time and imagine a new urban future.

The new media artist Liudmila Siewerski is working with projection mapping, media scenography, and video installation art. Her multidisciplinary practice combines video, archival material, and 2D/3D graphics to explore cultural memory embedded in architectural space. Through site-specific, ephemeral compositions, her work activates historical and socio-political layers of place. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki and at the University of the Arts Berlin.
