09 – Alessandro Lupi »ANTIEGO«
A mirror that appears ordinary yet never reflects the viewer’s own face, while the presence of others remains visible. This interruption of self-recognition transforms the mirror into a conceptual space where identity is questioned rather than confirmed. By withholding the self-image, the work invites a temporary release from the ego—often a source of frustration and conflict—opening up a more precise and open relationship with others and with one’s own perceptions.
Alessandro Lupi’s research has evolved over the years through experimentation with matter, light, and shadow. Each work is an invention that investigates reality in a different way, each time trying to start from a new space and engaging in dialogue with it. His works have been exhibited in galleries, museums, and public spaces. Objects, sculptures, and large installations share the commonality of stimulating the imagination, allowing interaction, and employing a poetics that begins with archetypal elements, yet seeks to explore uncharted territories.
