03 – Javier Riera »The Luminous Grove«

Steinerne Brücke

Javier Riera’s work is based on projections of light and geometry onto vegetation, employing a concept of landscape intervention similar to Land Art. The installation seeks to expand the viewer’s perception to latent dimensions within the space. It aims for an experience of visibility that is both serene and awe-inspiring. Javier Riera understands geometry as a natural language that predates matter, capable of establishing a subtle and revealing resonance with it. The Steinerne Brücke unites the two banks of the Danube. Here, too, geometry serves as a delicate bridge between our inner selves and the natural world.

Javier Riera is a visual artist renowned for his land art and projection-based works, exploring the intersection of geometry and nature. The relationship between geometry and nature in his work takes on a meditative character. His projects have been showcased at numerous light art festivals worldwide. Javier Riera’s work has been exhibited in leading museums, including Museo Reina Sofía and MUSAC in Spain, and is part of significant public and private collections.
