01 – Sebastian Kite »Inner Time«

Thon-Dittmer-Palais

“Inner Time“ is a living architecture of light, sound, and movement, inviting audiences into a choreography of transformation and shared presence. Conceived as a time capsule holding memories within the present, the work unfolds as a kinetic environment where rotating arms of coloured light trace slow, celestial paths through darkness. Voices shift in and out of phase, moving from dissonance toward harmony. The sound is composed in collaboration with the Regensburger Domspatzen, a choir with over one thousand years of history, unearthing some of the earliest choral music sung in Regensburg. Ancient voices resonate anew, allowing past and present to breathe together in a space where time becomes palpable, layered, and alive.

Sebastian Kite’s practice explores the intersection of art, architecture and music, creating immersive environments that make visible the invisible emotive structures of human experience. Through sculpture, installation, and public art at an architectural scale, he transforms sites into places of quiet intensity, shared reflection, and gentle disruption. Drawing on elemental materials alongside contemporary technologies, Kite shapes light, sound, kinetics, performance, time and space into vessels for active contemplation, where perception becomes the medium and participation the catalyst. His installations blur the boundaries between inner and outer worlds, material and immaterial, tracing memory, presence and impermanence. Each work acts as a mirror for life, inviting both intimate introspection and collective consciousness in fleeting moments of heightened awareness.
